Are you positive and results-driven with an impressive track record in sales, marketing or fundraising?

Why do we ask? Because one in three people will develop cancer in their lifetime and it’s our aim to raise enough funds to be there for each and every one of them. Community fundraising already generates £30m a year across the UK, but we need someone like you to help us raise much more and encourage more people to take part in what we do.

Accustomed to working on the move, you are equipped with a strategic mindset, focus, drive and enthusiasm, as well as excellent communication and exceptional relationship building skills. Using all these skills and traits, you'll create and implement an innovative plan - one that maximises our impact in your area and delivers strategic financial and non-financial objectives through a network of local supporters and volunteers.

From businesses to schools, local associations to private individuals, you'll be part of our ambition to inspire millions to get involved in reaching and improving the lives of people affected by cancer. So, as well as identifying key local supporters and those with influence in the community, you'll work with the traditional media, through the internet, and face to face with both established and potential supporters and volunteers to raise awareness of all our vital work and how we can all help.

In return for your hard work and impressive results, we commit to actively developing you and our benefits include BUPA, life assurance, pension, childcare vouchers, generous leave, and interest free loans for season ticket and gym membership.

Our Fundraising Managers are mobile-workers who travel extensively within the defined geographical area for their role. You must have a full UK driving licence at the time of application and the work will also require some unsocial and out of hours working. A car or car allowance is provided.

You may have experience of the following: Sales Manager, Regional Fundraiser, Corporate Fundraiser, New Business Manager, Area Sales Manager, Business Development Manager, Marketing Manager, Key Account Manager, Client Relations Manager

<strong> Closing date: 11th June 2012.
Interview date: 19th June 2012.

We want to support students and graduates and give them the opportunity to raise their career aspirations, increase their awareness of what a local authority does and make Shropshire Council an employer of choice.
